Aionos – Rätikon
We followed Alex Luger on the first ascent of Aionos (7 pitches, 350m) on the Drusenfluh East Wall in the Rätikon, capturing a ground-up climb that is raw, unfiltered, and fully unknown. Alex approaches every first ascent from the bottom, meter by meter, without knowing what lies ahead. Technical gear is used solely for safety—no pre-placed bolts, no compromises. The line emerges organically as he climbs, always accompanied by the question: “What will it be like at the top?”
Free climbing in unknown terrain is for Alex a form of self-exploration. Beyond the visible athletic challenge, it is a personal journey of focus, reflection, and self-trust. The film blends intimate moments with FPV drone footage, showcasing both the physical effort and the emotional depth of the ascent. For Alex, it’s never about difficulty alone, but about creating clear, memorable lines and experiences that endure—true to his philosophy: less, but meaningful.
